Salary: £21250.43 - £22813.48 per year pro rata / £11.648 to £12.50 per hour with potential to earn more dependent on your working pattern.

Glasgow Life is looking to recruit qualified and unqualified Lifeguards to join us as Glasgow Life Assistants on full time, permanent contract. As a Glasgow Life Assistant (Pool Lifeguard) you will be joining our in-demand sports team and UK’s most extensive leisure operations with 32 leisure facilities across the city. The role
As a Glasgow Life Assistant (Pool Lifeguard) you’ll be an integral part of the team by delivering exceptional customer service to our swimmers and customers. You’ll go going above and beyond to deliver the highest of standards when dealing with customers and cleanliness in our venues. Reporting to the Duty Manager and working alongside an established team, you’ll be responsible for supervision of both our pools and customers.

The candidate
If you’re interested in joining us as a Glasgow Life Assistant (Pool Lifeguard) you’ll need:
• To be a competent swimmer (be able to achieve a timed 100m swim).
• Hold an existing pool lifeguard qualification OR be able to complete the STA Pool Lifeguard qualification within 12 weeks (delivered by Glasgow Life)
• Commitment to attend regular work training to maintain your qualification.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Full time roles work 35 hours 5 days over 7, depending on the venue, our earliest shift starts at 5.45am and latest finishes at 10.30pm (Monday to Friday) and weekends operate from 8am with closing at 8pm. Rotas typically work on a 3 rolling week rotation, so you'll know what hours you are working in advance. Our teams support venues across Glasgow as required, but everyone has a primary venue which will be discussed at interview. We have vacancies currently at 8 of our pools - Bellahouston, Scotstoun, Tollcross, Springburn, Castlemilk, The Bridge, Gorbals and Maryhill.

Important Dates: Closing date 26th November and interviews are provisionally scheduled for w/c 4th December. Our selection process consists of an in-person interview and a practical swim test at one of our pools.
