Developing the Young Workforce School Co-ordinator

35 hours per week
Temporary up to 30 September 2023 (post may be extended until 31 March 2024)
£23,363 - £24,367 pro rata (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Please note, applications from people wishing to work part time will also be considered.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Orkney team, based at Orkney College UHI, as a DYW School Co‑ordinator. This post will be based at Stromness Academy.

Applicants will be responsible for developing and implementing a programme of employer engagement aimed at enhancing the curriculum and increasing pupils’ career awareness and skills development.

Applicants must be educated to HNC or equivalent SCQF level 7 qualification and have experience of working with a diverse range of partners and building effective partnership networks. They should also have experience of working with young people.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

While this post is currently temporary to 30 September 2023, there is potential for further extension beyond that date when funding is confirmed. Please contact Rachel Scarth to discuss this further.
