An excellent opportunity has arisen in the Business Support Team within Finance & Business Support for a Senior Support Assistant. The team provides support to a varied range of teams within Perth & Kinross Council, including legislative/statutory work for Regulatory Services, as well support for Waste Services and many other services, using a variety of different software packages.
You will have experience of managing the day-to-day workload of a team and be able to demonstrate how you monitor, train and support a team. You will also assist the Support Officer with any new projects and delegated tasks.
This is an ideal opportunity for you to showcase your abilities to support service delivery by providing a diverse and varying range of business support tasks. You will be able to demonstrate your excellent organisational skills and be able to work under pressure to manage conflicting demands, sometimes within tight timescales. Effective teamworking is essential. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to deal effectively with internal and external customers in all areas of work; demonstrating good working relationships and the ability to deal effectively with enquiries and requests. You will be able to follow and apply processes and procedures to understand the activities of the work area. Excellent IT and digital skills are essential to operate and maintain relevant systems and equipment necessary for completing assigned tasks. The ability to understand Health and Safety policies and procedures relevant to the role and work activities is also essential, as well as being able to follow current GDPR guidance.
This post is currently a hybrid working position – based partly in the office at Pullar House with the team for three days per week and partly based at home for two days per week.
Requirements
The preferred candidate must be committed to delivering a high-quality service in accordance with PKC Customer Service Standards and demonstrate confidentiality and integrity of all Council information.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team is also vital. You must be able to work under pressure to manage conflicting demands, sometimes within tight timescales.
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial.
Extensive knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office (Office 365) is essential, and having experience of working in a business support environment is desirable.
