Job Description

Occupational Therapist, Pitlochry PKC11292
£29,878 - £31,875 (25.2 hours/week)
Community Occupational Therapist Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership.
Base: Pitlochry Community Hospital, Pitlochry PH16 5FG
A vacancy has arisen within the integrated Perth and Kinross Occupational Therapy Service for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with experience of working with vulnerable people in the community. It is a part time permanent post based in the North West Locality Team. You will be working with a supportive and collaborative team of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants and clerical assistants based throughout our other Perth and Kinross localities.
The North West locality is one of the most picturesque you could find. Comprised of small towns, villages, and rural hamlets it is a scenic and varied “Gateway to the Highlands of Scotland”. An area of exceptional natural beauty. Due to the rural nature of the patch, we enjoy very close working relationships between primary health, community nursing, social work and all the AHP staff. The community hospital is located in Pitlochry and is the hub of multidisciplinary working with the Social Work team, District Nursing, Community Mental Health Team and Community Rehabilitation Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams on site along with the Pitlochry GP surgery.
Your role will be to undertake comprehensive assessments and arrange the provision of equipment, adaptations and community supports to assist individuals to achieve their optimum level of independence in the community.
You would have a base in Pitlochry Community Hospital – with the option of using the council hub in Perth also. We work a hybrid system of flexible working and support working from home and/or base as required.
For purposes of connection and collaboration with colleagues and with the community we serve, our full-time employees work from a work-related site two days per week, with the arrangements for part-time employees being agreed on a basis which will ensure that they benefit to an equivalent degree. We are committed to being a more inclusive employer - to ensure we can consider any reasonable adjustments, please either contact the recruiting manager to discuss any individual circumstances, discuss at interview or, if you prefer, after any conditional offer is made.

Requirements

You will be required to work with people of all ages who require specialist OT assessment and intervention. You will be expected to undertake comprehensive assessments and to arrange the provision of equipment, adaptations and community supports to assist individuals to achieve their optimum level of independence in the community. You will have strong assessment skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively with service users and carers. You will be able to demonstrate experience of multi-disciplinary working and be committed to working closely with colleagues from other disciplines. You must be able to work effectively within a team and demonstrate a commitment to improving service provision. You will have good organisational skills and be able to manage a busy caseload. Excellent verbal and written skills are essential.

The Individual

You must have Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy. You must be registered with HCPC. Significant post qualification experience is highly desirable. You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
