Join our team and you will have a supporting role in tracking, monitoring, and reporting on grant and income funding across the Council and in providing related financial advice and support to services. Producing regular monitoring reports of spend across grant and income funding streams, presenting these to senior managers and budget holders and providing financial advice and guidance.

 

You will assist the Finance Business Partner and Assistant Business Partner with the timely submission of grant claims and associated data returns to maximise effective use of financial resources across the Council. Work with budget holders to ensure the Council’s funding budgets and income streams are accurately accounted for in the financial ledger and that the terms and conditions of grants are met, and grant claims are submitted accurately and on time.

 

Contribute to periodic monitoring of the service’s income by working closely with the Assistant Finance Business Partner. You will contribute to the planning and setting of the services long-term budget by working closely with the Finance Business Partner.

 

You are AAT qualified (or have equivalent experience) with experience of providing finance support to budget holders and senior managers in a public sector environment. You have effective communication and report writing skills and IT skills, including Office365. The ability to manage competing demands and prioritise effectively and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders are essential.

 

The Finance team currently works in a hybrid approach that allows a mix of office based and home-based working.

 

Degree in a relevant discipline, CCAB or equivalent accountancy qualification and previous local government finance experience is desirable.
