Deans House is a residential care home for adults with a Learning Disability located in Livingston. The service supports individuals to access a range of community meaningful activities meeting individual outcomes and personal goals. The service supports residents to maintain an independent living approach working towards moving on to a smaller care setting, individual tenancy.
The service also supports those that accessing respite for short holiday stays to provide arrange of activities and to be supported throughout their short stay.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the successful applicant to join our staff team on a part time basis as a social care worker, to support the development and delivery of a stimulating individualised service and environment in line with West Lothian Council and Care Inspectorate guidance, policy & procedure, as well as National Strategies.
It will be essential for applicants to have had experience of working with Adults with a Learning Disability especially in care planning and hold a min of HNC Social Care & SVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
Applicants to have skills in team work, organizing with in a team would be desirable.
You must be able to demonstrate and ability to communicate with a wide variety of people both verbally, in writing and using alternative types of communication methods, as well as have the ability to remain calm when working under pressure. You must also be able to demonstrate good organisational skills and be able to prioritise your work. Experience of residential work is desired along with knowledge of trauma informed practice, is pivotal to this role. Along with experience of managing with in a residential setting.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account
