36 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, 14% shift Allowance.

The Support at Home Service launched in 2012 incorporates a range of services, all community based and working in people’s homes. We are currently recruiting for a full-time team leader to work in the Crisis Care Service. This is a permanent position. Days and shift times to be negotiated, weekend working will be required.

The role of a team leader in the crisis care service is wide ranging and includes supporting a team of care workers who respond to people who have fallen, pressed their pendant for assistance, or are unable to speak with Careline but need assistance. The team also respond to inactivity alerts which are raised from the telecare equipment where there has been no movement within a house for a specific period of time. The team also take referrals from the health SPOC (Single Point of Contact team)

You will need to enjoy working with people, have empathy, and like a working environment which is fast paced with no two days the same. You will also need to want to be part of a team who are committed to providing good quality care in people’s homes.

Other tasks include conducting team meetings, carrying out staff supervision and completing staff personal development plans to ensure fitness to practice as care workers, managing sickness absence and taking part in disciplinary procedures

As a team leader you will be expected to use your initiative and take decisions within the policy framework, standards and objectives of the service.

It is essential that applicants have

  • Experience of supervising employees and managing a competing set of demands for service
  • Good communication skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Comfortable/confident with a range of IT systems

Successful candidates (for registered posts), if not already in possession of an SVQ Level III Health and Social Care or equivalent along with PDA in Supervision would be expected to make a commitment to achieving these qualifications.

A full driving licence is required.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.
