Strategy, Planning and Business Intelligence undertake a range of activities related to the student journey and University performance including strategy development and implementation, policy analysis, strategic planning, business intelligence and data analytics.
This role will assist the Directorate in supporting the University’s statutory data returns to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), and to support business intelligence provision used for University decision making across the institution.
The successful candidate will be educated to HND level or equivalent (level 4 or equivalent experience, in a numerical discipline). They will have experience of reviewing and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data from a variety of sources and presenting results in the most effective formats to inform decision making.
The candidate should have experience of Business intelligence processes, structure and implementation. Strong numerical analysis skills and experience data quality and accuracy. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience of database organisation, management and interrogation. The role requires adherence to high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
The candidate should have good analytical and problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal and influencing skills, ability to work well as part of a team, and have the ability to prioritise workload and deal with competing demands.
Organisational and time management skills, as well as the ability to plan and organise short-term activities and events are also a requirement.
Experience of planning/data analysis in a Higher Education environment would be desirable but is not essential.
