The School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment delivers a diverse range of programmes at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level and undertakes research that is rated in the top 20 for the UK in the Built Environment.
We are looking for enthusiastic and inspirational individuals to sustain the growth of the Department of Construction & Surveying. We are seeking individuals who have a passion and enthusiasm to deliver innovations in learning and teaching and to develop research and knowledge exchange opportunities. We seek both practitioners and academics with a good working knowledge related to our accrediting Professional Bodies. Areas of desirable expertise include but are not limited to: Measurement, Economics, Commercial Management, Construction Contracts, Estimating and Digital Measurement. This role will allow you to explore novel and emerging areas of construction and deliver excellent quality teaching.

The successful candidate will have a relevant Honours degree or equivalent. In addition, a PhD in a related area and/or equivalent significant industrial experience along with membership of a relevant professional body is desirable. The role holder will have substantial expertise in professional practice evidencing the skill set required in quantity surveying, as well as having experience of using relevant digital costing software. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to listen and engage, and to present complex information in an accessible way to a range of audiences along with the ability to contribute to the strategic development of the department. It is essential that the successful candidate has evidence of continuous development within their own field.
