Cook - Permanent - Sessional - 35 hours

The cook is required to cook food, create menus, and help manage the production and delivery of meals to provide for Jordanhill School’s very busy catering service, providing food to over 1000 pupils in primary and secondary daily.

This role involves ensuring compliance with legal and government regulations, policies, and procedures associated with current school food regulations – Food and Drink (Scotland) Regulations 2020.

As the role also involves the operation of cooking equipment, good physical health and fitness is paramount due to the nature of the physical demands of the job. The chef forms part of the catering team in school and reports to the catering manager.

Working hours are 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm during the school session (39 weeks) with a further 2 weeks to be worked during the school holidays:

Occasional variations to normal working hours will be required to accommodate school events in the evenings.

Rate of Pay

The rate of pay for this role is £13.42 per hour. The salary for this position is £21,924 per annum (full-time equivalent £27,215).
