The role:
Our Estates Team plays a crucial role in the day-to-day upkeep of our diverse asset portfolio, ensuring optimal experiences for staff and visitors across our sites.
We're offering a unique opportunity for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Operative to join our dedicated team, contributing to the maintenance of assets in breathtaking locations. This role entails maintaining statutory compliance for building maintenance across our owned and leased sites, conducting thorough inspections aligned with health and safety regulations, and supporting contractor management. With each day presenting new challenges and experiences, this role promises excitement and variety.
Ideal candidates will have a trade background, leveraging their customer-centric approach and adept prioritisation skills to efficiently tackle tasks and deliver effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Reactive Maintenance: Act as first point of contact for all reactive maintenance requirements, including the coordination of 3rd party service providers and managing the fault reports to triage, assign, resolve and escalate as necessary.
- Planned Maintenance: Identify and undertake all planned maintenance as per the maintenance schedule for all National Park premises both owned and leased.
- Fault reporting: Provide a timely response to day-to-day operational issues identifying facilities issues and escalation of situations requiring urgent attention. Updating the fault reporting systems as required and providing feedback to customers.
- Records Management: Assist with the management of contractors’ files by ensuring all the required paperwork is available and up to date.
- Building Security: Responsible for the security of the premises and its contents, including the operation of the fire and burglar alarms and key holder responsibilities (including out of hours On Call provision on a rota basis), responding to fire and burglar alarms, monitoring building management systems and lighting and heating of the premises.
- Customer Service: Provide a high-quality proactive customer-focused service to internal and external customers. Deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of enquiries and issues regarding National Park Authority business. Be knowledgeable about the range of business activities performed by the Authority and engage appropriate staff to deal with enquiries.
- On Call Responsibilities – to attend any of the NP property 24hrs when on call, to have the ability to answer the phone and manage contractors attending. To be available to be on site to determine and instruct on a situation. Access to a fleet vehicle will be given to attend these duties.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade as required.
Who we are looking for:
Your skills, abilities and experience should include:
- Experience of working in a busy customer focused environment
- Experience of working in a facilities environment undertaking maintenance duties.
- Experience of working within Health and Safety regulations.
- Computer literate & knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Numerate
- Good written and oral skills
- Trade Background/Multi-skilled
Ideally, but not essential, you’ll also have:
- Knowledge of the National Park Authority and its functions
- Flexible and adaptable can do attitude
- Familiar with setting up Audio Visual/Video Conferencing and PA systems
- Relevant building related qualification
