The Royal Society for the Support of Women of Scotland (RSSWS)
RSSWS was founded in 1847 and provides direct financial support to single women aged 50 or older and who have been living in Scotland for at least 2 years. Our support can be for a limited period to help women through a difficult period or during a time of change in their lives, or it can be open ended to provide security and dignity for women struggling on low incomes and who are at the sharpest end of the gender pension gap. Women can apply directly to the Society or we increasingly working in partnership with other voluntary and statutory sector organisations who can refer or nominate women for support.
The Society has administrative offices in Edinburgh and a team of caseworkers based all across Scotland.
