Job Description
Role – Home Carer (Supported Living)
Location – City Wide
Salary - £19,934 per annum, £13.65 per hour
Hours and Shift Pattern – 28 hours per week – 7 on / 7 off shift pattern
Week off - (zero hours worked)
Week on – Monday – Sunday 7.30am – 10.30am then 4.30pm – 10.00pm, with an unpaid half hour break giving 8 hours per working day
Total hours on week on = 56 hours
56 hours paid over 2 week rota = 28 hours per week average
At Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership our home carers provide a lifeline which allows vulnerable citizens of Glasgow to remain independently in their own homes for longer.
Supported Living is a citywide service that supports service users within their own home, thus preventing an admission to longer term care. The service provides both personal and practical care tasks alongside dedicated social time to allow carers time to encourage service users to participate in hobbies and activities within the comfort of their own home.
No previous experience or qualifications are necessary and all training will be provided by our in-house training team to give you the required skills and confidence to enable you to begin your career as a home carer.
The role requires you to have or to have the ability to undertake and attain a SVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent, to meet the requirements of registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). We will provide support and meet the cost for undertaking this qualification. You are required to have obtained SSSC Registration within 6 months of employment.
A valid driving licence is required for this role.
Successful candidates may require to travel across allocated area due to service requirements.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
