Bridge of Allan Primary is looking for its next Depute Headteacher to work alongside a strong management team.

Bridge of Allan Primary is a large Primary School based within the village of Bridge of Allan, near Stirling. The school sits on the site of a former orchard and is surrounded by trees, parks and green fields as well as local housing. Currently there are 14 classes spread across P1-P7 as well as a nursery. The management team comprises of a Headteacher, two Depute Headteachers and a Principal ECE. There are also 3 Principal Teachers.

You will have responsibility for Pupil Support and pastoral care for Primary 4-7, management of Probationer staff and students, P7 transitions, curriculum and assessments within P4-7, organisation of medical policies/procedures as well as timetabling and organisation of requisition. You will also lead in quality assurance procedures as part of the wider Senior Management Team and work closely with other members of staff to lead and shape the school. There will be responsibility for a curricular area and part of the school improvement plan to be agreed. You will work with community groups and external organisations and individuals to improve outcomes for our young people. For session 2024/25 there is likely to be a small teaching commitment.

You will have experience in leading others and be an excellent classroom practitioner. You will have strong interpersonal skills and be a great team player, whilst being able to work under pressure and use initiative when and where needed. You will be an excellent communicator and problem solver. You should also have a good understanding of the current climate within Scottish Education.

Please feel free to contact Fiona Buchanan, Head Teacher at the school for further information or for an informal discussion.
