Curriculum Manager - Construction (Ref. No. L704) 

Full Time/Permanent/Altens Campus

Salary: £50,394.00 (pay award pending – current offer additional £3.5K per annum)

 

You will be an advocate for high quality learning, teaching and student success across the broad areas of Construction.  You will have responsibility for ensuring an engaging, inspiring and progressive curriculum, responsive to regional and commercial need.  You will also be proactive, creative and embrace new and emerging technologies relevant to the changing needs of employers, partners and our students.

 

You will be an effective communicator and forward thinker.  Leading and managing dedicated lecturers, you will have the ability to motivate, inspire, and establish the necessary direction, to ensure successful student outcomes and experiences.

 

Educated to a minimum of SCQF Level 9 (or equivalent) in a relevant field, you should hold a full teaching qualification or have equivalent experience in training and assessing and be willing to work towards a teaching qualification. You should also possess the skills to plan, develop and monitor the delivery of the curriculum, ensuring quality and consistency.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.  Effective organisational and planning skills are essential as well as the ability to lead effective self-evaluation processes which contribute to improvement in student outcomes and experiences.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

JOB TITLE:                    Curriculum Manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A degree, HND or equivalent relevant professional qualification (or working within SCQF Level 9)
  2. Willing to achieve full registration with GTCS
  3. A full teaching qualification or willing to work towards this
  4. Evidence of continuous professional development

 

EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Experience of successful, creative and innovative teaching in a curriculum area leading to high quality outcomes
  • Proven experience of developing and implementing new initiatives to support the teaching and learning process which lead to improved learner outcomes
  • Proven experience of contributing to curriculum planning
  • Experience of planning and evaluating services including developing and contributing to self-evaluation reports and action plans
  • Relevant and up to date experience of innovated use of IT in course delivery
  • Proven track record of managing the quality outcomes and compliance within a curriculum area

           

Desirable:

  • Previous management experience within a Construction role
  • Experience of successful, creative and innovative teaching within the curriculum areas
  • Successful experience of leading teams/individuals to achieve objectives and improve performance
  • Proven contribution in the effective use of resources and timetabling
