Job Description

Based at Marchbanks Depot office, you will work full time, 37 hours per week on a temporary basis for a period of 18 months. The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee Area. Funding for training is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19 or disabled/care experienced applicants under the age of 30. Requirements

You will have ​3 National 4s, including English and Maths or Relevant Foundation Apprenticeship or equivalent.

Responsibilities

You will undertake a Modern Apprenticeship and provide an efficient and effective project and administration support to the Waste Services department. The Modern Apprentice will gain core business skills, training and knowledge through work activity supported by a dedicated workplace Mentor. At the successful completion of the Modern Apprenticeship, an SVQ 2 (SCQF Level 5) in Business Administration will be awarded.

The Individual

You will have a genuine interest in Waste & Environmental operations along with interpersonal, communication, organisational and time management skills. Experience of Microsoft Office packages, the ability to work flexibly as part of a team, to prioritise work under pressure and to meet deadline, to produce accurate work and the ability to maintain confidentiality relating to sensitive or personal matters is essential. You will be committed and have the ability to complete the full Modern Apprenticeship and to achieve SVQ 2 in Business and Administration (SCQF Level 5).
