Two exciting opportunities are available within the People Team at Alzheimer Scotland. Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families. We campaign for the rights of people with dementia, support vital dementia research and promote positive brain health. When it comes to those who work and volunteer with us, we believe people are our most valuable asset, without whom it wouldn’t be possible to deliver our shared vision and mission.

As an organisation, we strongly value Fair Work to enable an environment of trust, personal growth, integrity, wellbeing and respect and we actively promote ‘employee voice’ and engagement. The HR partner roles will lead in best HR practice and influence to bring continuous improvement. Our activity is focussed on an ambitious people strategy that underpins our commitment to enabling our people to reach their potential - as individuals and as one organisation, working together for people living with dementia. For the right person, these are great opportunities to make a significant contribution as an HR Partner and opportunity to shape our people strategy.

The roles

The HR Partner role will work closely with HR colleagues and line managers in helping shape our future, ensuring we have the right combination of people, skills, and ability to take forward and deliver on our Strategic Plan and provide the best possible support to our key frontline services. We are looking to recruit an experienced and proactive HR professional to join the HR team in undertaking a truly generalist role, which will be varied and require a flexible hands-on approach. This role will have the opportunity to lead on a number of workstreams including workforce planning, projects, recruitment, health and wellbeing, case management and policy development.

The HR Systems Partner role is a new position within the People Team and will lead in the review of the current HR IT system – iTrent hosted by Midland. The role will look to make continuous improvements to the system and HR processes to support continuous improvement for the Charity. We are looking to recruit an experienced and proactive HR systems professional who is able to develop and It and digital solutions which are then translated into easy-to-understand processes and policies that benefit the full organisation. The role will require a hands-on approach and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

The person

Both HR partner roles require the ability to manage projects and contribute to the development of our Human Resources and People function. A strong understanding and appreciation of how engagement and collaboration are key enablers that will help the Charity to work better and achieve positive outcomes is essential.

The HR Partner requires a track record of leading and supporting managers with sometimes complex employee issues and have operated at an advisor level with strong generalist knowledge. You will have experience of core HR activities including providing advice and guidance on people and change management processes, alongside the ability to operate at a senior level.

The HR Systems Partner requires a track record of developing HR IT solutions that have been successfully embedded. You will have experience of HR IT systems and HR metrics reporting, alongside experience and full appreciation of the positive impact that excellence in the management of HR information, systems and processes has. You will have experience of working at a senior level with strong HR systems knowledge.

We are a Scotland wide charity, so you’ll also need to be prepared to work flexibly and be willing to travel if and when required to help with issues arising across our various localities. This role will be based in Edinburgh with the ability to adopt hybrid working. Presence in our Glasgow office will be required.

If you are interested and excited by reading about either of these opportunities and have the necessary skills and experience, we would be delighted to hear from you.
