Blue Star is a small family business run by husband and wife team, David and Lou Rundle. They offer bespoke cleaning and care at home services in St Andrews and the surrounding areas. At Blue Star we do not believe in a one-size fits all approach and do not like the idea of holding our customers to ransom with a tying long term contract. Unlike our competitors we want you to stay with Blue Star because you are completely satisfied with the service, not because you have signed a minimum service contract.
The company was originally launched in February 2014 by David and only covered domestic cleaning services at this time.
David left a job as a Business Manager for a care at home company to
start Blue Star - it was a risk but he had drive and passion about creating
a business he truly believed in. The first few weeks were really difficult
and David could not have build the business without the help from his
wife, family and friends. With no steady income and 3 kids at home
the whole family really needed to pull together to make it work so there
were many late nights and early morning where David, Lou and the kids relentlessly posted leaflets through as many letter boxes as possible. This teamwork and determination really paid off and within a few months the business began to thrive.
Since launching in 2014 the business has grown and developed, moving into the home help sector in 2015. In 2017 the registration to become a care at home provider was sought to allow Blue Star to offer a holistic service whilst encouraging independence, dignity, privacy, choice and well-being of all our Service Users. Lou heads up the care at home side of the business and also helps with general day to day running of Blue Star. She brings with her a wealth of experience as well as drive and passion in ensuring each customer is well looked after and has a service that meets all their needs. Lou has many years care experience and is also a registered nurse - so you and your loved ones will be in good hands.
All staff members that visit your property have been police checked and reference checked before
commencing with Blue Star and have worked alongside a trained member of staff. The company is
also fully insured with both public liability and employers liability insurance.
David and Lou’s main vision is for Blue Star St Andrews to be recognised as a passionate and
adaptable home help and care provider offering elite quality services to support people
