**Please read the Role profile carefully before applying for this role. This is not a care assistant post, it is an office based support worker who provides information and counselling to unpaid carers.**

Adult carers are people who help to look after a relative, partner, friend or child who has a disability, illness, a mental health issue, addiction, or frailty. Providing unpaid care for someone can be rewarding but it can also be a huge responsibility that can affect other areas of a person’s life, such as, job prospects, relationships, education, family life and their own health and wellbeing.

The post holder will work closely with health and social care partners to offer support, and information to adult carers across the Clackmannanshire area. You will engage with carers encouraging them to take up their right to have an Adult Carer Support Plan and become actively involved in local and national forums and groups to have their views and opinions heard as equal partners in care.

We are currently going through a commissioning process and although the role of supporting carers will not change, how we deliver carer support may change, with the possibility that the post holder will work alongside Social Work colleagues, from the Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership, for part of their working week.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated, have good interpersonal skills and the ability to use their own initiative whilst contributing effectively within a team.

Candidates must be available week commencing 16th October 2023 for interviews.
