At Corbenic, we believe everyone deserves to live a life filled with purpose, dignity and opportunity. As a House Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring adults with learning disabilities receive the highest standard of care and support within our unique residential community in rural Perthshire.

This is more than a management role. You'll lead a dedicated house team, build meaningful relationships with residents and help create a genuine home environment where people are supported to live fulfilling lives, develop their independence and make their own choices.

About the role

As House Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of your household, ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centred care while leading, supporting and developing your team of staff and volunteers.

You'll oversee care planning, staff supervision, medication management, household finances and regulatory compliance, working closely with the wider Care & Support Management Team and other colleagues across Corbenic.

You'll also play an important role in maintaining Corbenic's Camphill ethos, helping to create a warm, welcoming home where residents are valued, included and supported to live as independently as possible.

The role requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings on a rotational basis, in line with the needs of the house and its residents.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, support and develop the house team, including staff supervision, appraisals, training and rotas.

  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care, promoting residents' dignity, independence, wellbeing and choice.

  • Ensure care plans, reviews and risk assessments are accurate, up to date and reflect residents' individual needs.

  • Manage medication, safeguarding, incident reporting, health and safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, welfare guardians, social workers and other professionals.

  • Oversee household and resident finances, budgets, records and relevant audits.

  • Coordinate the daily running of the household, promoting a warm, welcoming home environment in keeping with Corbenic's Camphill ethos.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Corbenic to maintain high standards of care, support staff development and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and policies.

About you

We're looking for an experienced, compassionate care professional who can combine strong leadership with a genuine commitment to supporting adults with learning disabilities.

You'll have:

  • A minimum of three years' experience working in the learning disability sector.

  • At least two years' experience in a leadership, supervisory or management role.

  • An SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or an equivalent qualification, and a willingness to work towards SVQ Level 4 if you haven't already achieved it.

  • A person-centred approach, with a commitment to promoting residents' dignity, rights, independence and choice.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust with residents, colleagues and external professionals.

  • The ability to lead, motivate and develop a team, delegate responsibilities fairly and manage competing priorities.

  • Confidence in addressing challenges, having difficult conversations and supporting staff to improve their practice.

  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and oversee household responsibilities.

  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and sleepovers as required.

Desirable

  • Experience working with adults in a residential learning disability setting or a related care environment.

  • Relevant care training.

  • Current SSSC registration.

  • A full manual driving licence.

You'll also share Corbenic's commitment to equality, inclusion and creating a community where everyone is treated with dignity, fairness and respect.

Why join Corbenic?

At Corbenic, you'll become part of a close-knit community where relationships matter and your leadership can make a genuine difference to residents' lives.

We offer:

  • The opportunity to lead a household and make a meaningful difference every day.

  • A supportive working environment where collaboration and shared learning are encouraged.

  • Opportunities for professional development and further qualifications, including support towards SVQ Level 4 where required.

  • Ongoing training and opportunities to develop your leadership and care management skills.

  • The opportunity to contribute to our unique Camphill community and its approach to shared living.</p
