Male* Support Worker

We are looking for male* Support Workers to join our busy Community Support service in Airdrie. We have a range contracts available from 25 and 30 hours per week.

The Role

You will be joining a small, dedicated team of Support Workers providing support to several individuals within the Airdrie and Coatbridge area with a variety of complex health and support needs, including autism, dementia, lifelong health conditions, mental illness and addictions.

As a Support Workers, you will play a crucial role in supporting these individuals with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, personal care, managing personal finances and assisting with medication. You will also support them pursue their hobbies and interests, including music, swimming, attending the gym and other outdoor activities.

About You

We are looking for people with a real passion to build relationships and positively impact the lives of the people we support. So, whilst it would be beneficial if you have experience in a similar role, this is not essential. What’s most important to us is that you can demonstrate the right values and attitude to make a difference. You’ll receive all the training and support you need through our award-winning Training Academy, including the opportunity to complete a fully funded SVQ qualification.

As travel will be required throughout North Lanarkshire, it is essential that you hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.

Shift Patterns

Your normal hours of work will be between 6.00 am and 10.00 pm, Monday to Sunday, and will be a mix of split shifts, shorter shifts and longer blocks of support. You will be expected to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays as part of your rota. Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours and you’ll receive an additional sleepover payment of between £76.00 to £95.00 per night, depending on the needs of the service.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.
