Could you be our missing piece? If you're passionate about making a difference and looking for a career packed with job satisfaction, then we have a great opportunity for you!

Our fabulous #TeamAberlour is looking to complete their team and now recruiting for an understanding and enthusiastic individual with great chat to join them as a Support Practitioner supporting a young man with Autism in his own home.

We recruit on values and transferrable skills, so you don't need experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us. We have our own Training Academy that'll give you all the skills you'll need, including the opportunity to complete your SVQ.

Bring a driver would be desirable but please note this isn't essential. We would also be looking for a person that is a keen walker and likes to be energetic.

The Role

As a Support Practitioner, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting with all aspects of daily living including support with housework, administration of medication, assistance with personal care and the management of personal finances. The young man we support enjoys living an active life and have a variety of hobbies include going for walks, out to the disco, drives in his car, listening to music and going bowling. We'll be looking to you to help identify new opportunities for participation and inclusion where he can achieve his personal goals and aspirations.

All we’ll need you to bring is;

  • A caring and compassionate attitude
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • A creative drive to improve the lives of the individuals you support
  • Confidence in the use of computers

Shift Patterns

We provide 24/ 7 tailored support in the pattern of 12 hour shifts starting from 9:30am to 21:30pm and a waking night from 21:30pm to 9:30am the next day. However, this does change on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday due to day service commitments for the young man.

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today, we can't wait to hear from you!

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
