The Role

The great thing about this job is no two days are ever the same. You'll become part of a dedicated team who will support a lady with epilepsy to live in her home.

As a Support Practitioner, you’ll assist the individual with all aspects of daily living including cooking, housework, shopping, medication and finances. You’ll also support with their hobbies and interests too. Your support will play a huge part in helping them to reach their goals and play an active part in their local community. Particular things she enjoys are having pamper days, going out in the community and people watching while grabbing some lunch!

Being a driver is essential as the lady we support will soon have her own car which she enjoys getting out in.

About You

You need to be outgoing and represent core values that cornerstone looks for. Don't worry regarding experience we also look at life skills as these can be transferable in many cases

We recruit on Values and transferrable skills; we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team. We'll pay you for your training and will even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!

What we need you to bring:-

  • A caring attitude and approach
  • Good at communication skills
  • An understanding of the important of following guidelines and routines
  • A positive approach to learning
  • Confidence in the use of computers
  • The ability to cook

Shift Patterns

The shift hours will be varied as sleepovers are needed 7 days a week from 10am till 10pm the next morning but we also offer a double up shift within the service which runs from 8am to 8pm.

For these opportunities, we are unfortunately unable to work our rotas for our contracted posts around a university or college timetable.
