It's a really exciting time for #TeamDundee! We’re currently preparing to open our brand new housing support service, which means we're now on the lookout for caring, motivated and reliable colleagues to join us. We have various permanent full-time or part-time (16-39 hours per week) and relief opportunities available.


The Role


The great thing about this job is no two days are ever the same. You'll become part of a dedicated team who supports individuals with Autism to live in their own homes. Their homes are all situated in the same housing support complex, so there will be no travel to other support locations while on shift.


As a Support Practitioner, you’ll assist the individuals with all aspects of daily living including cooking, housework, shopping, medication and finances. You’ll also support with their hobbies and interests too. Your support will play a huge part in helping them to reach their goals and play an active part in their local community.


About you


Although it would be great if you already have knowledge and understanding of Autism, here at Cornerstone, we recruit on Values and transferrable skills; we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team. We'll pay you for your training and will even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!


What we need you to bring:-

  • A caring attitude and approach
  • Good at communication skills
  • An understanding of the important of following guidelines and routines
  • A positive approach to learning
  • Confidence in the use of computers
  • The ability to cook
  • Confidence in going in the water as swimming will be a regular activity


Shift Patterns


As we're dedicated to providing around the clock support tailored to the needs of each individual, shift patterns will involve early mornings, days, evenings and weekends, sleepovers, waking nights and public holidays on a rotational basis.


For our contracted opportunities, we are unfortunately unable to work our rotas around a university or college timetable.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
