Start afresh with a career you love!!

Our amazing #TeamDrum in Dunfermline are now on the look out for caring, patient and flexible colleagues to join them. We have various permanent contracts available from 21 - 35 hours per week. We also have relief opportunities too if you're looking for something a bit more flexible.

The Role

The great thing about this job is that no two days are ever the same. Our team support 4 wonderful ladies who have complex support needs to live in their shared home. The ladies enjoy a variety of activities from watching football & rugby to going to the theatre and cinema along with in-house activities such as arts and crafts, baking and sensory days.

As a Support Practitioner, you'll assist with all aspects of daily living, including going to appointments, personal care, meal preparation, finances and housework. As the ladies we support use wheelchairs there will be aspects of moving and assisting, including the use of hoists.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of others with a bubbly and outgoing nature and can think creatively when planning activities. The ladies have their own car so it would be great if you have a full, manual UK driving licence, but this isn’t a deal breaker for the right candidates!!

We recruit on values and transferrable skills, so you don't need experience or qualifications to start your career with us. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills that you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ qualification too!

What we need you to bring: -

  • Great communication skills
  • A caring attitude and approach
  • A positive approach to learning
  • Always seek to go above and beyond what's expected
  • Confidence in the use of computers

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated team provide 24 hour support with shifts usually falling into patterns between the hours of 0700-2200 hours, waking nights, sleepovers and weekends. Shifts may occasionally vary depending on the needs of the people we support and activities planned.

Our sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours, so you will receive an additional £84 for every sleepover you work. Waking nights are paid at your normal hourly rate plus an additional £20 per waking night worked.

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today, we can't wait to hear from you!

Have any questions?   If you'd like to find out more, please contact Claire Agnew on 07866946732.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
