Moray Children’s Rights Service is recruiting a full time Rights Participation Worker who will be flexible and have the autonomy to manage their own time based on service delivery needs. The service operates throughout the entire region of Moray and our scope is broad, therefore you must be willing to travel when required and have the flexibility to visit people in the day and evenings to offer advise. As a key member of the children's rights service you will be dedicated to embedding a rights-based, trauma informed approaches to ensure the inherent value of every person and promote equality and prohibit discrimination whilst empowering individuals to claim their rights. You will also participate in the decision-making process and have their voice heard in the matters that impact their life, this will also include being part of children and adults hearings.

Working pattern: This is a full time, permanent post working 35 hours per week. You will have the autonomy to manage your own time based on service needs and delivery, you will be required to work evenings when visiting based on individual needs and will have the flexibility to work agile managing your workload effectively. Please note you must be a driver and have access to your own vehicle as you will be required to travel within a geographical remit in and around Moray this will include working from our Quarriers office base, visiting people and working from home some of the time.

What you will need to bring to the role

  • Commitment and enthusiastic with skills and drive to work with children, adults, young people and their families to promote and safeguard their rights.
  • Ability to empower people with ongoing participation in expressing their views, feelings & wishes in all matters affecting them, and to have their views taken seriously.
  • Flexible working approach and available to attend potential evening visits based on service needs.
  • Driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential
  • Excellent communications skills, passionate about enabling people, building confidence and ensure their voice and views are heard.
