Support Practitioner

Our fabulous teams in Balloch and Clydebank are on the lookout for active and compassionate individuals with the ability to motivate and inspire to join them as Support Practitioners. We have full and part-time opportunities available.

You don’t need previous experience in care to join our team as a Support Practitioner as we recruit on values and transferable skills. We provide full training along with the opportunity for you to complete your SVQ.

The Role

The people we support have a range of different needs including Mental Health, learning disabilities, Acquired Brain Injuries, addictions and past trauma. As a Support Practitioner you will assist with all aspects of daily living including support with personal finances, prompts with medication and personal care, going to appointments and activities along with emotional and social support.

You will support the individuals on an outcome-based programme which will see them grow in confidence and learn life skills to increase their independence. You’ll take an active interest in their hobbies which include arts and crafts, music, going out for walks and to their social clubs, volunteering, shopping and many more.

With your help, you’ll enable the individuals to explore new opportunities and reduce social isolation.

To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:

• Have an empathetic and caring nature.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence in using computers.
• Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
• Good organisational skills.

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated teams provide tailored support 24/7 and shift patterns vary between services and could include mornings, days, evenings and sleepovers along with weekends and public holidays.

Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours, you will be paid an additional £99.20 for every sleepover you cover.
