We are on the lookout for active and compassionate individuals with the ability to motivate and inspire to join us as Support Practitioners on a full-time, permanent basis.

You don’t need previous experience in care to join our team as a Support Practitioner as we recruit on values and transferable skills. We provide full training along with the opportunity for you to complete your SVQ.

The Role

You will become part of our committed and friendly team, delivering person-centred care to approximately 60 individuals. Our three teams span the northwest of Glasgow, covering areas such as Drumchapel, Knightswood, Blairdardie, Anniesland, Scotstoun, Yoker, Whiteinch, Partick, and Broomhill.

The people we support have a range of different needs including Mental Health, learning disabilities, Acquired Brain Injuries, addictions and past trauma. As a Support Practitioner you will assist with a range of diverse support such as homecare, medication management, meal preparation and supporting people in the community to access health services, educational opportunities, leisure and social activities within their own homes.

You will support the individuals on an outcome-based programme which will see them grow in confidence and learn life skills to increase their independence. With your help, you’ll enable the individuals to explore new opportunities and reduce social isolation.

To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:

  • Have an empathetic and caring nature.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in using computers.
  • Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
  • Good organisational skills.

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated teams provide tailored support with shifts ranging from 8 to 10 hours, starting at 8am and ending at 10pm, during which you will assist between 5 and 10 individuals in their own homes. Most live close to each other making it possible to walk from one visit to the next, while some are just a brief bus journey away. Additionally, we support a young gent who requires 24/7 care and the shift includes a sleepover.

Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours, you will be paid an additional £99.20 for every sleepover you cover.
