We’re recruiting for motivated and understanding *female colleagues with a creative mindset and to join our fabulous team as full-time Support Practitioners.

For this role it is essential that you hold a full UK, manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 years’ driving experience as the young lady will be getting her own mobility car.

You don’t need previous experience in care to join our team as a Support Practitioner as we recruit on values and transferable skills. We provide full training along with the opportunity for you to complete your SVQ.

The Role

You will be joining our friendly team, supporting 4 individuals in their own flats who have Autism and epilepsy. This role will see you predominantly working with a young lady in her early 20’s who will be moving into her first home after living with her parents. Your role as a Support Practitioner will involve providing transitional support to help the young lady learn and develop essential life skills, including looking after her own home, ultimately increasing her confidence and independence. There may be times you will be working with one of our other supported individuals, but all flats are within walking distance to each other.

As a Support Practitioner, your primary responsibility will be to assist the young lady with all aspects of daily living. This includes meal preparation, medication management, attending appointments and activities, managing personal finances and providing prompts with personal care. With your guidance and support, the young lady will be able to adjust to living independently. You will take an active interest in her hobbies which include jigsaw puzzles, watching movies and support her in exploring new opportunities in her local community.

To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:

  • Have an empathetic and caring nature.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in using computers.
  • Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
  • Good organisational skills.

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated team provide 24/7 support including weekends and public holidays. This role will include day shifts lasting 12-13 hours, commencing at either 8am or 9am based on the day's scheduled activities, as well as Waking Night shifts from 8pm to 9am.
