Help us to make a difference!

Sacro’s mission is to deliver life-changing services that empower people, give hope and protection, and help to build safe communities.

Team Leader – Community Justice

  • AYE Service – arrest referral, diversion from prosecution and bail supervision support.
  • Justice Support and Bail Mentoring services.

Fixed term to 05 June 2025 with the possibility of extension for a further period, subject to funding.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to support and oversee the staff teams and operational delivery of our AYE Service and Justice Support and Bail Mentoring Services.

The AYE service supports people from South Lanarkshire via three key referral pathways – arrest referral, diversion from prosecution and bail supervision. Each of the pathways aim to offer person centred support to address drug and alcohol problems and reduce barriers to access care/treatment. We take a public health approach to justice and encourage recovery and community integration. We work in partnership with South Lanarkshire ADP and a range of local statutory and third sector partners to provide a holistic approach.

Our Justice Support and Bail Mentoring services operate across North Lanarkshire and North Ayrshire supporting people on court mandated orders or those subject to bail supervision. The support is holistic in nature addressing person-centred needs and supporting the work/assessment of justice social work as appropriate.

You will have responsibility for the day-to-day management and service delivery across the services. Duties include line management of service staff, selection and recruitment of staff and volunteers, payroll duties and supporting and monitoring staff to support a caseload in addition to direct casework as required. The post holder may be required to work out with normal office hours and will be linked to our Glasgow Hub following our Hybrid – Hub model and across the relevant service local authority areas as required.

Responsible to the Community Justice Manager, you will ensure that a high-quality service is provided. Knowledge and experience of the justice system is essential, while awareness of social care arrangements in Scotland is desirable.

You will be a creative self-starter with excellent organisational and communications skills. The ability to use initiative and organise workload within a pressurised environment is essential. The successful applicant will be flexible and imaginative in their approach and sensitive and confident in their ability to help the people we support and support staff through difficult situations.

We welcome applications from those who are in recovery themselves or have lived experience in the Justice System.

Evidence of supervising and managing teams is also required.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) will be a requirement for this post.

A valid driving licence and access to a car are required for this post.
