About the Role

SAMH are looking to recruit a Team Leader to provide a Level 2 DBI service. This is a 35 hour a week post, core hours are 10am – 6pm with some weekend working on a rota basis also participating in the Management Back up on call.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team. As a DBI Team Leader you will provide leadership and guidance to DBI Practitioners within our Inverclyde service and support our DBI services across Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The Team Leader will also be responsible for providing direct DBI support to individuals referred to the service in distress. The DBI Team Leader will co-ordinate, evaluate and review this support, allocate referrals and ensure that all referrals received from Level 1 partners are contacted within 24hrs. You will be providing mentorship to practitioners and also liaise with external partners. As the DBI Team Leader you will have the ability to communicate constructively and confidently with multiple partner agencies such as Police Scotland, NHS 24, GPS, CMHT, and Ambulance Service.

A Distress Brief Intervention is a time limited and supportive, problem solving contact with an individual in distress and is a two-level approach. DBI level 1 is provided by staff from front-line services, such as: GPs, Community Link Workers, Police Scotland, the Scottish Ambulance Service, CMHTs and Unscheduled Care pathways. This involves a compassionate response, signposting and offer of referral to a DBI level 2 service.

The overarching aim of the DBI Programme is to provide a framework for improved inter-agency co-ordination, collaboration and co-operation across a wide range of care settings, interventions and community supports, with the shared goal of providing a compassionate and effective response to people in distress, making it more likely that they will engage with and stay connected to services or support that may benefit them over time.

What we are looking for

As an experienced Team Leader, you will provide positive leadership and management whilst demonstrating and evidencing the following;

• Leading and managing teams to ensure safe and effective provision of support to those people who use the DBI service through the promotion of outcomes focused person centred approaches.

• Reporting and evaluating of operational service delivery demonstrating delivery and development and ensuring accurate recording of Data.

• Strong communication skills and experience establishing effective partnerships with key stakeholders.

• Compliance with relevant, legislation, contracts and service specifications, SAMH policies and ensuring practice reflects current research findings.

• Effective and efficient management of all resources.

• Skills and experience in developing services to ensure enhanced service delivery.

The working pattern is predominantly Monday to Friday; however you may be required to work out with this in line with service needs including evenings, weekends. There is a requirement to participate on the management on call rota out with working times. The post though initially home working will include meetings that requires travel.
