Scottish Veterans’ Residences (SVR) is Scotland’s oldest military charity. We support former Armed Forces and Merchant Navy personnel who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or who otherwise need housing support. We are recruiting a Housing Support Worker to join our professional team at our 44-room residence at Rosendael, Broughty Ferry, Dundee.

This is a full-time post (37.5 hours/week) working a seven day, three weekly repeating rota. Working hours are 8am to 6pm. There are elements of lone working. This post is subject to a Disclosure Scotland check.

SVR offers a dynamic housing support service to assist our Veterans to return to independent living where appropriate. We seek to maximise Veterans independence and provide support to move on to appropriate, permanent accommodation wherever possible. Veterans rent their own fully furnished en-suite room and access our onsite support and facilities including dining room (providing all our residents with meals) communal lounges, gym & and laundry services.

ABOUT YOU

To fulfil our Vision and Mission you will embed our values to deliver the safety, health, comfort, and welfare of Veterans in line with the Care Inspectorate’s Health and Social Care Standards to deliver an effective housing support service to our Veterans.

With a minimum of 3 years previous experience in housing support you will be reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic. You will deliver positive, sustainable outcomes. You will be dedicated to the support and the wellbeing of residents. Professionally qualified and registered with the SSSC, you will hold an SVQ3 in Health & Social Care (or be working towards). You will have proven experience of the supported housing sector. You are a proactive team player, reliable, consistent, focused, and flexible in both your outlook and approach.

In return, we offer an excellent salary of £31,706 per annum plus additional benefits.
