About the Service
Our 24-hour housing support service in Motherwell provides exceptional, person-centred support to two individuals living in their own homes. Both individuals are primarily deafblind and have complex support needs. Communication is tailored to each person's individual preferences, with speech being just one of many ways they communicate.
A shared service vehicle is provided for outings and appointments, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
Shift Pattern
Our service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing flexible support across a seven-day rota.
Typical shift patterns include:
- Early Shift: 7:45am - 3:00pm
- Late Shift: 2:45pm - 10:00pm
- Long Day: 7:45am - 9:00pm
- Sleepover Shifts: Paid at your normal hourly rate
You will be expected to work a mixture of shifts, including weekends and sleepovers, as part of a planned rota.
Key Responsibilities
Working on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, you will support individuals with all aspects of daily living, whilst promoting independence, choice and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing personal care and practical support
- Supporting medication administration
- Assisting with meal planning and preparation
- Helping with household tasks and maintaining a safe home environment
- Supporting finances and everyday budgeting where required
- Encouraging participation in community activities and social opportunities
- Building positive, trusting relationships
- Helping individuals maintain connections with family and friends
- Liaising with families, health professionals and other agencies
- Promoting independence and individuality in line with support plans
- Recording daily support activities and maintaining accurate records
- Working collaboratively as part of a dedicated support team
