As our Energy Lead you will be responsible for the procurement and contract management of our commercial energy portfolio, including maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with our energy suppliers and partners.

This is a critical role within our Assets & Sustainability team, as we strive to do all that we can to assist our customers who are currently facing fuel poverty challenges and as we plan to become a Net Zero organisation.

You will be data driven, with a high level of IT and digital literacy. You must have the ability to work effectively to meet deadlines, have a focus on attention to detail, display a positive and can-do attitude and place customers at the heart of everything you do.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with autonomy to contribute to and deliver strategic business priorities, whilst also working within a dynamic operating environment.

You will project manage our energy efficiency investment projects, aimed at reducing the energy consumption and carbon emissions in our homes and offices and alleviating fuel poverty for our customers.

The successful candidate will contribute to the design and delivery of our new Sustainability Strategy, Time to go Green. The management of our Energy portfolio will play a critical role in the strategy, identifying new and emerging supplier innovations to support energy efficiency, as well as reducing our carbon emissions, helping us achieve our Net Zero target by 2045.

The role will involve cross-functional collaboration with colleagues from across the whole organisation. With direct line management responsibilities for our Energy Assistant, the Energy Lead will oversee:-

  • the co-ordination and administration of the utilities process for our void properties.
  • the management of our energy asset database for commercial and residential properties.
  • Invoice management - ensuring that billing and VAT charging is validated and accurate.
  • identifying solutions to support savings and benefits, and assisting in securing external grant funding, where available.
  • identifying and delivering service improvements and opportunities to optimise value for money through procurement activities.

The role will offer the opportunity to work flexibly between home and any of our offices, in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Wishaw, as required.
