Do you want to make a real impact on Homelessness?

Our Dumfries & Galloway Housing First Service based in Dumfries, Lockerbie & Annan operates Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm with on call rota every 6 weeks. No Sleepovers.

The Housing First model helps people with multiple and enduring support needs move directly into a tenancy without having to prove they are ready. Many service users have a long history of homelessness, some have never had their own home and may face multiple and complex issues such as substance misuse, trauma, mental health challenges or offending behaviour.

You will give the support that makes a positive difference and real change in their lives

About The Role

  • Supporting our service users as they move into their permanent home, helping them feel settled and secure.
  • Supporting our service users to attend health & benefits appointments and court appearances
  • Build positive working relationships with partner agencies across housing, health, substance use and criminal justice
  • Give practical and emotional support, champion harm reduction and respect each person’s choices

About You

  • You bring a calm, caring and non-judgemental approach, guided by strong values
  • You bring experience of supporting people with complex needs and understand the importance of person-centred, trauma-informed care
  • You bring strong IT skills, to ensure accurate record keeping
  • You can share guidance and practical support with colleagues, helping everyone to do their best work
  • We do need you to have a driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle. (mileage paid weekly)
