This post offers the opportunity to join a committed and enthusiastic team of professional social workers who practice these values daily.

About us

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervising Social Worker supporting families and children located across the West and South of Scotland with planned travel to our office base in Falkirk. In this role, you will have the remit to ensure quality of placements provided by foster carers, by supporting assessments and providing support, supervision, and training as appropriate. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside referring social workers to identify and support foster carers, provide family-based care to children and young people and ensure that looked after children achieve the most positive outcomes. The role also includes being a part of our out of hours support for our foster carers, inc. weekends, providing telephone support remotely. This is on an 8-weekly basis and our SSWs are the first point of call, with support from a senior manager and includes an additional daily allowance.

You will already have a proven track record of working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality and promoting their positive development, so this may be a logical next step for you.

Since 2006, Care Visions Fostering has been supporting young people across Scotland to improve their daily lives, development and opportunities after care. We work close to home, operating as a close-knit team of leaders, practitioners and carers. Our every decision and action is focused on responding to the needs of our young people. And when those needs change, so do we.

We are responsive, innovative and provide trauma-informed support and therapeutic relationships that build confidence, resilience, and trust in recognition of the extraordinary children and extraordinary carers we support. We’re interested in progressive care that helps children and young people move forward by creating positive environments for them to thrive in, helping young people to feel safe, to trust and be trusted and to grow and develop, is at the heart of what we do and we do this through our unique therapeutic support model.

As part of the Care Visions Community, you will continue to develop your knowledge and skills in the specialist area of family placement within the most supportive of settings.

You will also benefit from:

  • Excellent opportunities for professional development
  • Working within an ethos underpinned by therapeutic approaches, including our Theraplay and DDP
  • Expert education support available for all carers and children
  • Protected case load of typically 12 fostering families
  • 27 days annual leave plus 9 public holidays
  • Access to a range of employee benefits

This is an extremely rewarding role, where you could make a real and significant difference to the lives of children and young people when they need it.

Closing date for the submission of a completed application form is: 10am on Thursday 6th June 2024

Interviews: are being held on Monday 10th and Wednesday 12th June 2024 in our Falkirk office. Successful candidates will be invited to attend on one of these days.
