Job Purpose
To contribute to the management of the school/service and the delivery of quality education through the appropriate involvement of pupils, staff, parents, other agencies and the community. This will be done in accordance with the Authority’s strategic plan, the school/service improvement plan, national priorities, local improvement objectives, in accordance with current legislation and within national and local agreements.
Requirements
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
Appropriate teaching qualification
Full GTC (Scotland) registration in the appropriate subject/sector, or be eligible for
such registration
PVG scheme membership – Working with Children
Responsibilities
About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our school as Lead Principal Teacher of Pupil Support. In addition to these, the key roles and responsibilities of the Lead Principal Teacher of Pupil Support are:
- Provide strategic leadership of the Guidance team within Lochside Academy including all aspect of quality improvement
- Lead and manage the Guidance team consisting of seven Principal Teachers of Guidance
- Deputy School Child Protection Officer
- Operational lead for all aspects relating to pupil attendance
- Responsible for ensuring operational compliance with all national health and wellbeing protocols and statutory requirements
- Representing the Guidance Team in decision making processes
- Lead the facilitation of Pupil Voice within our wider school improvement processes
- Responsible for all aspects of curriculum development and accreditation within the Guidance Team
In addition to having the day to day responsibilities of a principal teacher of Guidance for a targeted caseload;
