Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Building Female Founders Business Advisor to join the Aberdeen City and Shire Business Gateway team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced business advisor to support the development and growth of female-led businesses, helping to drive inclusive economic growth across the region.
The Business Gateway team are based within the Planning and Economy Service in Aberdeenshire Council, delivering services on behalf of both Aberdeenshire Council and Aberdeen City Council.
The Building Female Founders Business Advisor will create, develop, and manage a portfolio of clients, with a particular focus on supporting women who are starting or within their first two years of business. A key aspect of the role will be to organise, host, and deliver a programme of networking events creating opportunities for female founders to connect, collaborate and build confidence alongside receiving tailored business support.
The postholder will play a vital role in delivering one-to-one advice, facilitating group sessions, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where female entrepreneurs can develop their skills, networks, and ambition. Working closely with colleagues across the wider Business Gateway team and partner organisations, the postholder will also proactively engage with and attract new clients to the service, particularly those who may not have previously accessed business support.
In addition, the role will involve supporting the delivery of small-scale 'test and learn' grants for female founders, helping clients to trial new ideas, approaches or markets, and providing guidance to maximise learning and impact from this support.
This post is funded through the Pathways Ecosystem Fund, supporting initiatives that strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems and widen access to business support. For more information, please visit: https://pathway.ecosystemfund.co.uk/
