A vacancy has arisen for an Early Years Senior Practitioner to become a part of the Early Learning and Childcare team. The postholder will be the registered manager of the setting with Care Inspectorate. Alongside the Head Teacher, they will lead the staff team and quality improvement to meet the needs of all learners.
The postholder should have an excellent knowledge of the Early Level curriculum (Curriculum for Excellence), Realising the Ambition, Quality Improvement Framework, UNCRC and relevant statutory documentation, including child protection.
The postholder must hold a relevant SCQF Level 7 qualification such as HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ in Social Services (Children & Young people), SVQ Children’s Care Learning and Development.
If not already obtained, you must be willing to undertake and complete a BA in Childhood Practice or PDA at Level 9 within 3 years of starting in the role. Study will be undertaken in your own time and may involve 8 to 10 hours study per week.
This is a Children’s Service Network (CSN) post. Initially you will be based at Sandhaven School Nursery, but you may be required to work elsewhere within the Fraserburgh CSN.
The successful candidate will be employed on a 45.04 week per year contract.

Requirements
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post has a minimum requirement of 2 references. One of these must be your current or most recent employer.
This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
