Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and strategically-minded finance professional to join Aberdeenshire Council as Finance Manager (Business Partnering and Accounting).

Leading the Council's business partnering and management accounting function, you will provide financial leadership, insight and assurance to senior officers and Elected Members, helping to shape decision-making, strengthen governance and support long-term financial sustainability. This is a high-profile role offering significant influence, leadership responsibility and the chance to contribute to the future success of one of Scotland's largest local authorities.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Fixed Term for a period not exceeding: 31/03/2027.

Requirements

This is a Politically Restricted position as identified by the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. Further information on restrictions as a result of this designation is available here.

This post requires a Disclosure Scotland Check and where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory. 

This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
