Job Description

As a result of additional funding being awarded to expand our Housing First Programme we are looking to recruit 2 staff to work within our Housing First Team.

Could you be instrumental in enabling people whose homelessness is made harder by experiences such as trauma, addictions and mental health problems? Are you the kind of person who wants more out of your job?? Are you looking for a career that makes a real difference to people’s lives??If you are a caring, patient, compassionate, and adaptable individual who understands and respects the rights of other people, we would like to hear from you.

As a Housing First Support Worker with Aberdeenshire Council, you will work alongside a team of professionals within Aberdeenshire Housing Service. You will be involved in providing specialist support to clients who have a history of homelessness or young people who have been identified as without support they are likely to be on the cycle of homelessness. Our Housing First project has been recognised as one of the largestHousing First programmes in Scotland and recently published outcomes would indicate the project makes a difference to everyone supported via the programme in relation to reduction in offending, stabilisation or reduction in use of substances, tenancy sustainment and improved health outcomes.

As an employer, Aberdeenshire Council will provide, and fund all required training including facilitation and attainment of an SVQ3 qualification if the postholder does not hold the recognised qualification for SSSC registration.
