Job Description
Working as part of the Early Years team within our school nurseries, you will contribute to the development and wellbeing of young children. You will have a positive and nurturing approach and the enthusiasm and commitment to work toward an SVQ qualification in Social Services (Children & Young People) at SCQF Level 7 (also known as SVQ Level 3), over 23 months. We have 12 vacancies in school nurseries across Aberdeenshire:

- Lairhillock Nursery - Term Time*
- Meiklemill Nursery – Term Time
- Mill O’ Forest Nursery – All Year*
- Mintlaw Nursery – Term Time*
- Portlethen Nursery– All Year*
- Rothienorman Nursery– Term Time
- St. Fergus Nursery – Term-Time*
- Strichen Nursery – Term Time*
- Tarland Nursery - Term Time*
- Westhill Primary Nursery – All Year*
*All positions will be 36.25 hrs (Mon-Fri) between the hours of 8.00am-6.00pm, however, this may vary between schools.

Requirements
This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
The apprenticeship allows you to gain skills, experience, and knowledge in the world of work as well as gaining a formal qualification. Successful candidates will be placed on a SDS approved programme of training, undertaking the SVQ in Social Services (Children & Young People) at SCQF Level 7. Academic achievement to Scottish National Level 5, Standard Grades, or equivalent qualifications one of which must be English is essential. Relevant experience with children would also be desirable.
This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
