Job Description
Full-time Social Worker post within the Peterhead Children and Families Team. The successful candidate will be based at Buchan House, Peterhead, and will work across Children and Families services. Flexible working arrangements will be considered in line with service requirements.
Participation in duty and out-of-hours arrangements may be required in accordance with service needs.
Our team consists of three Team Managers, two Senior Practitioners, Social Workers and Family Support Workers who work together to provide support, protection and care planning for children across the local area. We have a strong learning culture and a well established reputation for supporting professional development, regularly hosting Social Work students and Newly Qualified Social Workers. Many students choose to return to the team following qualification, reflecting the quality of supervision, support and practice learning opportunities available within the service.
A key feature of our service is the Family Centre, which provides a dedicated space for direct work with children, young people and families. The centre is used for individual interventions, therapeutic work, group programmes and multi agency activity. Following significant investment and refurbishment, the facility now incorporates Bairns Hoose, providing a child centred and trauma informed environment where children who have experienced harm can access support, participate in joint investigative interviews and engage in recovery focused work. This innovative approach places children's experiences, wellbeing and recovery at the heart of service delivery, ensuring children are listened to and supported in a way that promotes safety, resilience and positive outcomes.
