Job Description

The role of Enhanced Provision teacher requires a candidate who can be flexible and who can meet the needs of pupils who have a wide range of complex additional support needs. The candidate should have experience of implementing strategies to support pupils with both their well-being and their learning. This will allow pupils to develop the four capacities of Curriculum for Excellence in a variety of different ways.
Pupils in the Enhanced Provision rely on a child-led approach to learning and continuous provision is often used to allow learning though play thus meaning that the candidate is required to provide innovative and engaging approaches to allow all pupils to access the curriculum. Pupils with Additional Support Needs who access the Enhanced Provision require a joined-up approach to learning therefore the candidate should be able to collaborate with a number of agencies and partners to provide a holistic approach to learning which focuses on building lifelong skills.
Communication is a pivotal skill which a candidate should have, it is required with the pupils to form relationships but additionally and equally as important with parents and with the support staff who work around these young people to develop a close working partnership and a shared understanding of each pupils needs.

The successful candidate will be based in the Enhanced Provision Centre.
