Job Description

The Stock Improvement & Maintenance Manager in the Housing Service, manages a team of 20, which lead on all upgrades to 13,000 Council homes in Aberdeenshire. This role provides specialist technical advice, guidance and support relevant to the council’s housing stock by contributing directly to the design, development and improvement of service provision. Leads on the Housing upgrade, repair and new build specification, Stock Improvement Procedure and has an overview of the Repairs and Planned Maintenance Teams. 

The SIMM identifies and leads on various service critical, development and enhancement projects.

To manage the collection of housing stock database and the planning of detailed work programmes and monitoring to ensure the Council meets its Asset Management objectives. To advise and support the Service Manager on the strategic direction and general development of the Housing Improvement Programme (HIP), providing expert technical advice and ensuring a consistent high level of customer service to tenants. 

The role covers all Aberdeenshire with teams based throughout (Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Inverurie and Stonehaven) so the base for this post is flexible and can be anywhere in Aberdeenshire to suit the successful candidate.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
