Job Description

Based at Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar.

This job is workstyle 4 - Flexi.

You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from a variety of locations, working from council buildings, working in service user’s locations and site visits and you can work from home to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

You will provide advice and support to young people aged 15-19 who are not in employment, education, or training. Working alongside partner agencies you will be involved in assessing the needs of young people and participate in the development and delivery of planned programmes and individual 1:1 activities to help young people develop and maintain essential skills for life and work which moves them towards and into further education, training, and employment.

You will have an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or HNC in Social Care or HNC in Working with Communities or equivalent along with knowledge and understanding of the needs of young people and knowledge of employability skills and their development.

You must have good oral and written communication and organisational skills, experience of mentoring/supporting and working with young people and within a community setting.

Sensitivity and understanding of barriers experienced by young people and the ability to work cooperatively with young people, their families, and members of other agencies.

You must have a non-judgemental and respectful attitude and be able to work as part of a team, unsupervised, on your own initiative and meet deadlines. Knowledge of employability pathways is desirable as is experience of interagency working.

A full, current driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential as is the ability to work some evenings, on occasion, for training purposes.

These job are temporary until no later than 31 March 2025.
