Job Description
This job is restricted to Angus Council employees working within Vibrant Communities & Sustainable Growth.
Based at Bruce House, Wellgate, Arbroath.
This job is workstyle 5 - Flexi.
You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from home for part of your week and spend some time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Environmental Health Service as a part time Animal Health and Welfare Officer. This is a varied role which will include carrying out licensing visits for new applications and renewals of riding establishments, dog boarding facilities and pet shops. Inspection of farm premises and close partnership working with the Animal Health and Plant Agency, the Rural Payments and Inspection Division of Scottish Government and the SSPCA.
This job is temporary until no later than 31 August 2026.
Internal applications on a secondment basis will be considered. You must have the approval of your line manager.

Requirements
You must have the ability to obtain a satisfactory Basic Disclosure Certificate.
