liveArgyll is a charity that operates leisure and sport facilities, libraries, halls, museums and community centres across Argyll and Bute. We are seeking an individual with energy, drive and passion to join our Health & Fitness team at Helensburgh Leisure Centre.

As a Fitness Instructor you will be required to work as part of a team. You will be stationed at the new leisure venue in Helensburgh, however there will be an expectation for you to have the ability to work flexibly between all venues within the Helensburgh and Lomond geographic area.

As a Fitness Instructor you will deliver the venue’s ever evolving fitness class programme, provide a helpful and friendly service to customers by ensuring safe, accessible and clean facilities. This will require successfully undertaking organised tasks and activities that may include facility preparation, cleaning and housekeeping, setting up/dismantling equipment, overseeing general safety and behaviour of gym and fitness class users, carrying out emergency evacuation procedures & safety checking. (This is a non-exhaustive list).

To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experience:

  • Essential – Level 2 Gym;
  • Essential - Ability to work flexibly including early shift, back shift, weekends and public holidays;
  • Desirable – Level 3 PT, indoor cycling, fitness class qualifications, COSHH, H&S Training, First Aid;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent customer service and hosting skills;
  • Organisational ability;
  • Able to work as part of a team;
  • Able to work with minimum supervision;
  • Excellent communication skills.
