Clerical Assistant
Boroughmuir High School

Salary: £23,651 - £23,857 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 19 per week, 39 weeks sessional

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised person to join our school clerical team. The role will include working in our school office providing a welcoming first point of contact for pupils, staff and visitors. Duties will include reception, telephone, general clerical, administrative, attendance using the SEEMIS system and practical support for various teams across the school.

The successful candidate will have experience of working as part of a team and be able to demonstrate a commitment and willingness to work flexibly and manage conflicting priorities in order to meet the needs of the service. They will also be competent users of ICT and have knowledge and experience of using databases, spreadsheets and word documents.

Candidates will be expected to provide basic first aid and administer medication as appropriate to support pupils. A suitable qualification in first aid or considerable experience in this area along with a willingness to undertake any necessary training is essential.

Working hours will be: Monday to Thursday 09:00 - 13:15, Friday 09:00 - 12:00

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
