The City of Edinburgh Council Advice Shop assists the public with welfare benefits and debt matters. We provide information, advice and advocacy for any benefits matter and all problematic personal debt. We also represent at court and tribunals to secure favourable outcomes for service users.
This post delivers the telephone advice service which is operated over 5 days per week during office hours, providing initial information and advice to callers and dealing with e-mail and online enquiries. The post requires active listening skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Previous experience in a customer service environment is essential. Knowledge of welfare rights and / or debt advice is desirable.
